Since 2008, Bistro Studios has produced custom web experiences with an eye towards simplicity, beauty, and ease of client editing. We have decades of experience working with both agencies and clients in a collaborative environment.
We host and support over 150 WordPress sites, all built using our own custom WP theme that we have developed over the last 5 years. We support our partners and clients long-term. We are friendly, reliable, and fast, on a daily basis. We do everything in-house, and run our business in a way that provides for and sustains our employees.

We’re looking for a front-end developer to help us build custom websites, as well as maintain and extend our custom WordPress theme built with PHP, JavaScript, SCSS, JSON, and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF). This theme is central to our daily site builds and ongoing edits for hosted clients. Projects may also include jQuery and one-off custom coding tasks.
In this role, you will contribute to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of dynamic websites and web applications. You’ll work closely with experienced developers and designers to bring creative ideas to life, ensuring seamless functionality, appealing design, and optimal user experience.

One of the things that helps us stand apart is our focus on beautiful design. We pay close attention to the details, bridging the gap between design and dev. The ideal candidate would have a passion for great design, whether that’s graphic design, product design, or even fine art. We work with color, typography, spacing, and visual hierarchy on a daily basis.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing responsive websites and web applications.
- Collaborate with team members to implement wireframes and designs using our custom ACF theme tools, blocking out website modules and determining the best way to standardize styling across large web systems.
- Support our current clients by helping to manage hosting accounts, website back-end and front-end updates.
- Participate in code reviews, QA testing, and debugging processes to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Assist in deploying applications using Local tools along with GitHub.
- Maintain version control using Git, ensuring smooth collaboration across the development. team.
Experience
- Demonstrate familiarity with front-end development technologies including HTML5, CSS3 (and SCSS), JavaScript, and responsive web design principles.
- Familiarity with tools like Visual Studio Code, Asana, GitHub, and Figma.
- A passion for learning new technologies, figuring out and solving problems, and building for the web, along with a strong desire to help further clients’ business goals.
