The overall project was designed and managed by the incredible Ghost Note Agency, based on a brand re-design by David Tann at Tantrum. Ghost Note took a complex and content-packed sitemap and created a diverse set of beautiful page templates that keep users engaged.
We programmed all of the interactions and animations using basic PHP, JS, and SCSS on top of native WordPress and Advanced Custom Fields. Everything you see is easily editable within the WP admin, with no complex theme editing or “visual code builders”.
Using ACF allows us to create our own theme blocks, thereby keeping the admin clean, fast and easy to edit. Each “module” has certain functions depending on the use, and then settings for each that allow customization. This is how we were able to have consistent inputs (title, subtitle, text) for various block styles, but change the look depending on the template design.
Ghost Note’s designer, Antoniya, did an amazing job of mocking up animations and interactions in Figma.
